College Tours...

Our little tiny 11 week old baby decided to SHOOT across the floor during tummy time last night!!!  She got her knees under her and was GONE!  She couldn’t quite figure out her hands, but still she was MOBILE!  Is it horrible that I wanted to cry?  She also rolled over TWICE!  I think the little baby stage should last longer.  I am prepared to start a letter writing campaign.

  1. Aw I am in love with those moments! Don't worry - she won't be walking across the room tomorrow. It does always go too fast.. but the "firsts" often happen once and then disappear for quite a while.. leaving us looking like liars when we swear to company that they can do x, y, or z. :)

  2. 11 weeks??? I cannot believe how fast time is going...congrats on the little successes! Now we've got to get going to prepare for this kind of ACTION. :-)

  4. Cigarettes and coffee. Keeps 'em young and cute forever. ;-)

Thank you, Mike and Tony, for sharing your journey. I'm just starting to look into becoming a surrogate myself, and I'm making the rounds of GS and IP blogs, and I just adored reading your story. You're both so well-spoken and fun to read, I found myself reading quotes outloud to my husband on several occasions (it also helps that I felt a certain kinship, seeing as my husband is also a Tony who used to be a first responder (he's now a critical care nurse on an ambulance), who also sniff tests his clothes, and I have rarely met people who seem as crazy in love as we are). I hope I can help make two men daddies who will be as amazing parents as I can already tell you will be. Hell, half as amazing, and they'd still be doing pretty good.

I know you guys are already feeling it, but I feel like the change in relationship for people like us, whose partner is their whole world, is even that much more dramatic after the birth of a child, but know that you can tough it out. It will never be exactly the same, but once everyone in the house starts sleeping more than 5 hours a night, it will get better. That won't Zoey from waking up everytime you start to get intimate, but I think that's a survival mechanism on the part of babies. ;-)

    2. "short and cute," not "young and cute"
      "won't stop Zoey"

That's what I get for commenting after bedtime.
